Last Saturday, au pairs from around the world gathered at the beach for our annual fun-filled event. Despite the windy weather and sand flying everywhere, the day was full of laughter and activities.
The event started with au pairs arriving at The Spot and quickly meeting those who they’ve been in touch with through WhatsApp. The beachbar was soon filled with chatting Au Pairs. Even though the sky was cloudy and there was no sun, everyone was excited for the day ahead.
A group of au pairs began with a yoga session, led by a cheerful instructor. With the sound of the waves and the wind in the background, they stretched and balanced on their mats.
At the same time, another group headed into the waves. The surf instructors were patient and encouraging, helping the au pairs learn how to surf. For many, it was their first time on, and the excitement was clear. The wind and sand added to the adventure, making every wipeout and wave-riding attempt a moment to remember.
As the afternoon wore on, everyone got hungry. Luckily, there was a burger bar where they could build their own burgers. The smell of grilling patties mixed with the salty sea air, and the au pairs enjoyed choosing their toppings and sauces. It was a chance to sit down, share stories, and enjoy some delicious food together.
Despite the challenging weather, the event was a big success. The au pairs left with sandy clothes, tired but happy, and with new friends from all over the world. The day showed that even with wind and sand, a sense of community and fun can make any event unforgettable.
